GREEN-fingered youngsters have been choosing plants that taste good as well as look good for their entries in this year’s RHS Spring Gardening Show in Malvern.
The theme for the 2013 gardens is books, but all 16 of the participating schools feature edible plants within their designs, while recycled materials and environmental concerns also make an appearance throughout the literary-inspired gardens.
Sharon Gilbert, of the RHS Spring Show, said: “Whilst the show gardens designed by professional landscape architects make a statement, they tend to reflect the concerns of the individual.
“The pupils, on the other hand, are more focused on issues that affect everyone and how we can make the world a better place to live.”
The show takes place on May 9 to 12 at the Three Counties Showground.
