A ‘big bang’ thought to have been caused by a mobile home fire in a field near Hallow overnight was felt more than two miles away.

David French, who was in a motorhome near Holt Heath, said the noise shook his van.

“It was very noticeable. It shook the motorhome,” said Mr French, who was camping with his girlfriend.

“My first assumption was that it was a gas cylinder.

“We felt the blast a couple of miles away.”

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service press officer Julie Wedgbury said fire crews were called to a field in Sinton Green, Hallow around 10.40pm last night.

She said a mobile home which had been loaded onto a trailer was on fire.
