A MAN armed with what is believed to be a knife stole cash from a convenience store in Redditch yesterday.
The offender entered the Co-Op on Evesham Road in Headless Cross around 4.20pm.
Police say he demanded two female cashiers open the till before leaning over and grabbing a handful of notes. He then forced the employees to open a second till, again grabbing a bundle of notes.
The offender is described as white, 6ft tall, of slim build, with mousy brown scruffy hair, and wearing a black jacket with a cream or white scarf pulled up to his mouth, and black gloves.
He left on foot, and went down an alley in the direction of Coldfield Drive.
PC Darren Shiels of West Mercia Police said: “This would have been a very frightening experience for the members of staff.
“The incident happened during daylight hours, and we are therefore appealing for anyone who saw the man approaching or leaving the store. He may have attracted attention due to wearing a scarf and gloves on a warm day."
Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident 109-N-210413.
