PEOPLE took to the streets to show their opposition to councillors over plans to build up to 500 homes and a 200-unit care facility in Droitwich.
Members of Wychavon planning committee who visited the Yew Tree Hill site, off Pulley Lane and Newland Lane, were welcomed by the Save Our Green Open Spaces campaigners and other local people against the plans.
As part of the application developers Barberry and Persimmon have applied to build a local centre to include shops, financial and professional space, restaurants, a hot food takeaway, an indoor bowls unit, offices and a police post.
Campaigners say the proposed satellite village would cover more than 108 acres of green open space, which can only be approached by using narrow country lanes.
