A POPULAR television chef will be among those cooking up a storm at a summer music festival.
Famous for his pasta sauces, Loyd Grossman will appear on the Riverside stage at Cornbury Music Festival with his band the New Forbidden, who are inspired by the golden age of transatlantic New Wave.
A host of other acts have been added to the line-up of the musical feast which runs from Friday to Sunday, July 5-7 in the Great Tew Park, Oxfordshire, such as ska band the Inflatables and Oxford’s Cuban-style dance band Ran Kan Kan.
Others also making an appearance are the indie-pop Black Hats, the Brickwork Lizards and seven-piece jazz combo the Original Rabbit Foot Spasm Band.
Softer offerings come in the form of Ben Montague, who has supported the likes of the Stereophonics and scooped the album of the week slot on Radio 2 in February, and the Americana country band the Knights of Mentis.
The party will well and truly get underway on Friday when the stage is handed over to popular London music venue the Bedford, who are bringing some of their favourite acts like Blair Dunlop who recently won the BBC Radio 2 Horizon award at the folk awards.
Star attractions already named on the bill are melodic pop types Keane, veteran Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, Scottish songstress Macdonald and the post-punk Echo and the Bunnymen.
