TALENTED young dancers are bidding for success in a popular children’s TV contest.
Children aged between nine and 13 from the Sway Dance group, which meets every week in Upton-upon-Severn, travelled to Birmingham to audition for the hit CBBC programme Alesha’s Street Dance Stars.
They had to send a video of a performance to reach the audition stage and are now waiting to find out if they are invited to perform in front of singer, dancer and TV presenter Alesha Dixon and a panel of all-star judges in the first round.
Tutor Ida Freeman said: “The girls were very excited and practised very hard once they found out they had been accepted.
“We have not found out yet if we have got through but we will feature in the first programme regardless.” The series is expected to start airing in July.
