A TEENAGE terror has been given a criminal anti-social behaviour order to stop her drink-fuelled trouble-making.
Kitty Simpson, aged 18, of Usmere Road, Kidderminster has been issued with a Criminal Anti Social Behaviour Order (Crasbo).
The two-year CRASBO was imposed by Worcester Magistrates Court on Tuesday (9 April). She had been previously convicted by the same court of being drunk and disorderly, and racially aggravated harassment of a police officer. Both charges arose from a large-scale disorder in Foregate Street, Worcester, early on January 26.
She admitted both offences and on February 18 was fined a total of £160 with £100 costs.
The Crasbo states that she must not use foul, abusive or offensive or racist language or gestures; and must not behave in an aggressive, threatening or intimidating manner.
A submission to the court compiled by the Broadwaters Local Policing Team said that she had been involved in disruptive and abusive behaviour in Kidderminster since 2009. She had racially abused restaurant and store staff and had been involved in numerous incidents in and around the town centre during which she had attacked, threatened and sworn at people.
This had continued despite warning letters being sent to her about her anti social behaviour after she had been involved in two drunken disturbances at Windermere House, Hurcott Road, in September 2011. On another occasion in February last year (2012) she went into the Tesco store in the town centre in a drunken state and swore and racially abused a member of staff who asked her to leave the supermarket. PC Rob Piper said: “She has been regularly involved in disturbances like this and they nearly always happen after she has been drinking. When we have tried to deal with her she has been aggressive and abusive towards our officers.
“People should not have to tolerate this and we have obtained the Crasbo to stop her offending and protect the public from further acts of anti social behaviour.
“Her behaviour has had a detrimental effect on people who live, work in or visit the town and she has been responsible for many complaints made to us.
“Hopefully she will now think about the consequences of her conduct because we intend to rigorously enforce the Crasbo and if she breaches it she can be arrested and fined or sent to prison for up to two years.
“We also hope it sends out a clear message to anyone else thinking of causing problems that we take anti-social behaviour very seriously and will take firm action against those responsible.”
