THE University of Worcester’s vice chancellor will be the guest speaker at the annual Mayor’s lecture at the Guildhall next week.
Professor David Green will present his vision for a prosperous future for Worcester and the action needed to secure it when he speaks on Wednesday, April 24.
He will also discuss the impact of the university upon the city and wider region, developing new skills, enhancing the workforce and generating new income.
Prof Green is marking his decade as head of the university this year during which time the institution has undergone extensive change.
Applications have more than trebled and the university now contributes more than £200 million each year to the economy – with more than 10,000 students, more than 1,000 members of staff, and an annual income of more than £70 million.
He said: “Worcester, like the rest of the country, has gone through a very difficult period economically. But there is great potential for the city and wider region to thrive and flourish.”
