FIVE promising acts will be live and loud when they blitz a birthday bash with a completely free show.
Blue Radio Records return to the Marr’s Bar offering a selection of some of their favourite acts with Worcester’s own This Wicked Tongue topping the bill as headliners.
The four-piece opened the main stage at the Green Man Festival, in the Brecon Beacons, last summer and are plotting a European tour of France, Netherlands and Germany in May.
With Tina V at the heart of proceedings on vocals, keys and guitar, they like to play loud and draw on a huge range of influences to win the crowd over.
The Black Country’s God Damn, who have previously featured at the Worcester Music Festival, are welcomed back with their dual guitars unobstructed by bass, a fascinating drummer and catchy vocal hooks.
Led by the vocals and guitar of Anya Pulver, Worcester three-piece Mansize create grunge-inspired, angst-driven noises that include a little math-rock along the way.
Another regular of the local gigging circuit presents itself in the form of Vault of Eagles from Bewdley.
The powerful trio are heavy on the riffs from the bewitching Mari and Hetty Randle, while soaring harmonies and 70s vibes add a kaleidoscopic feel to their sound.
And last but not least, John J Presley and his band make their debut appearance at the Pierpont Street venue, bringing with them a brand of blues folk noir that has drawn comparisons with Tom Waits and Johnny Cash.
