COMPUTER-savvy children at a school near Pershore are celebrating after taking delivery of nearly 30 new machines.

Defford-cum-Besford First School was awarded a £10,000 lottery grant through the Awards for All scheme to buy 26 notebook computers and a trolley to store them.

Headteacher Andrea Bailey said she hoped the computers could also benefit the wider community.

She said: “Not only has it really enhanced our school’s provision, but we can hopefully run some workshops for parents and anyone else in the community who wants to update their skills.”
