THE coroner has been informed of the death of a motorcyclist in a crash near Tenbury Wells and an inquest will be opened in due course.
A witness appeal was issued today by police investigating a crash in Burford, near Tenbury Wells in which a 26-year-old motorcyclist died.
As previously reported in your Worcester News the crash, which involved a red off-road Honda 85cc motorcycle and a beige Skoda Fabia estate car, happened at the junction of the A456 with Boraston Drive shortly after 10pm on Friday.
Police Constable Simon Fearn, one of the investigating officers, said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances which resulted in this tragedy and appealing for witnesses who might be able to assist.
“We are anxious to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or indeed, may have seen the motorcyclist or the car before it happened.
“It may be that the motorcyclist had been riding around the area for some time before the collision occurred. Anyone who can assist the police should contact West Mercia’s Force Operations Support Team at Shrewsbury police station on 0300 333 3000 as a matter of urgency.”
The motorcyclist, who has yet to be formally identified, was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where he died on Saturday.
The Shropshire coroner Mr John Ellery has been informed and an inquest will be opened in due course.
