MORE than £7,000 was made at the Mayor of Worcester’s charity dinner.
The annual event was at the Guildhall with 141 people attending.
The money will be split between Mayor Councillor Roger Berry’s nominated charities – St Paul’s Hostel and Maggs Day Centre, both in Worcester, and the Rotary Club of Worcester charities.
The star turn was WODYS (Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society’s Youth Section) cabaret.
The mayor said: “A lot of time goes into organising the event and I am delighted so many colleagues and friends came along and supported it. I also want to thank the WODYS’ youngsters for their splendid performance and for giving us time during rehearsals for their summer show.”
WODYS are rehearsing for Copacabana on at the Swan Theatre, Worcester, from Tuesday, July 30, to Saturday, August 4.
