THE stakes will be high at a historic National Trust property as volunteers hold a 1920s-themed fund-raising casino evening.
The new volunteer fund-raising group at Croome Park, near Upton-upon-Severn, will be inviting guests to try their luck at a variety of popular casino games on Friday, April 19.
They hope that the event will raise enough money to purchase a new fireside fender for the historic property’s dining room, allowing roaring fires to once again be lit in its fireplace.
“We’re really excited about holding this event as it will be our first as a group,” said volunteer committee member Barbara Wild.
“We will all be in 1920s dress, so we hope our guests follow suit and get into the spirit of the evening.”
The casino evening will be held at Croome’s visitor centre and is due to start at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £15, which will include supper and gambling chips.
They are available by calling 01905 371006 or you can e-mail croomepark@national trust.org.uk.
