A DISGUSTED pensioner says an unknown person has been defecating in her garden for more than a year.
The retired woman and her husband, who do not wish to be named, are now considering installing CCTV to catch the culprit after they were horrified to find excrement and soiled kitchen roll in their one third of an acre garden in Clarence Road, Malvern. She does not know who the culprit is but has reported the matter to Malvern Hills District Council and West Mercia Police.
The Worcester News has already reported another incident in which a binman fouled on the drive of a pensioner in Ryall, near Upton, in January 17, leading to a £1,000 compensation payout from the council.
The homeowner from Malvern said the the person responsible would have to have gone along a track and through a gate to get to the garden. She says it has happened at least 10 times since March last year, often on a Monday or Tuesday morning.
She said: “ It is more or less in the same place in our garden each time. I’m completely disgusted. I have called police who say it is an offence but they say it is difficult to do anything unless you catch the person. If it was a one-off we would have thought ‘fair enough, it’s a one-off’ but it has happened a number of times over a long period of time and we’re starting to get really, really mad.
“My message to this person would be unprintable in your newspaper. It’s soiling the area and it’s a matter of health and safety. Each time I had to remove it myself. We are considering CCTV but the council will not agree to fund it themselves.”
On one occasion, the culprit even shoved a used piece of kitchen roll through the bars of her fence.
Malvern Hills District Council said it was unawareof any complaint.
