REVELLERS attending an eccentric rural festival will be encouraged to go green this year.

Nozstock: the Hidden Valley is looking to reduce its environmental impact at Rowden Paddocks, Bromyard, when it returns from Friday to Sunday, July 26-28 with a number of green initiatives.

Tidy campsites will be rewarded during an awards ceremony at the Bandstand on the Sunday and a reuse-me box for unwanted items such as tents, camping equipment and wellies will be placed on Sunday and Monday (July 29) so they can be reused or donated to charities.

Fit music fans can take on the cycle challenge open to teams of eight travelling from more than 15 miles away in return for two free tickets and a hamper of drinks and goodies.

And for those less energetic there will be a free shuttle bus from Bromyard and coaches will run from Hereford and Worcester railway stations.

The festival’s Celebritree Avenue, started by the Proclaimers last year, will see another leafy addition planted by one of the headlining bands using proceeds from car parking charges.
