SHE is famed for having legions of ‘Brats’ as fans and now Cher Lloyd is one of the most popular Brits on Twitter.
The 19-year-old singer, from Malvern, now has more than four million followers on the micro-blogging website, becoming only the 20th British person to break the barrier.
On Monday, she took a moment to show her appreciation for the support from her army of ‘Brats’, the collective term for her fans, who now number more than the populations of Kuwait, Albania and Jamaica.
She said: “Thank you so much for getting me to 4 million followers!!! So happy! (: xxx”
Passing the milestone means the singer now has more followers than the likes of her former X Factor mentor Cheryl Cole, Shaun of the Dead actor Simon Pegg, Apprentice star Lord Alan Sugar and Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson.
Earlier in the day, prior to reaching the landmark, the starlet gave an example of why so many people follow her updates, tweeting: “Sat with a cuppa watching @itvthismorning ! Loving itttt! Xxx (:”
Fan Jeremy Bradley said he was impressed with Cher’s new standing among the nation’s top celebrities.
“When you look at the very famous Brits that she has more followers than it's amazing,” he said.
However, it isn’t just her tweets that have proved popular, her debut Stateside single, Want U Back, went double platinum last month after selling more than two million copies.
The former X Factor finalist has also been nominated for four gongs at the Radio Disney Awards, finding herself up against the likes of Taylor Swift and Katie Perry to attract votes from fans of the California-based station.
