REDDITCH residents are being encouraged to join a Neighbourhood Watch scheme.
Police want those living in the Worcestershire town to get involved in a bid to reduce and detect crime and anti-social behaviour.
PC Rich Waterhouse of West Mercia Police said: “Interest in Neighbourhood Watch seems to have declined recently in Redditch, which is a real pity.
“Neighbourhood Watch is not about nosiness or curtain twitching. It is about a group of people who care about their community becoming the eyes and ears of the police, and working together to make it a safer, more pleasant environment for everyone.
He said anyone interested in setting up or joining a Neighbourhood Watch scheme should visit westmercia.police.uk and enter their postcode to get in touch with their neighbourhood policing team.
