WORCESTERSHIRE's gritters remain on standby with the cold weather forecast to stay for the next several days.
Despite freezing temperatures, bracing winds and snow flurries, Worcestershire is still proving to be a luckier county than most in the present weather conditions.
But with the cold weather set to continue for several days yet, the County Council's fleet of gritters remain on standby to ensure they are ready to go out should road conditions look to be deteriorating.
This afternoon and evening will mostly be dry with the risk of some light snow flurries at times.
These should die away by around 8pm, leaving mostly dry, cold and clear conditions overnight.
Patchy cloud will develop at the end of the night, bringing the risk of a few further light snow flurries from around 6am tomorrow continuing through the morning with the possibility of some showers turning to sleet on lower ground by noon.
Gritters will remain on standby, with weather conditions being monitored throughout this period in case road treatment is needed.
Drivers are once again urged to drive with caution, ensuring they temper their driving according to the conditions, and ensure they maintain a safe distance between themselves and other vehicles to allow for additional braking distance when roads are wet or icy.
Residents can keep up-to-date with #grittertwitter by following the County Council's Twitter account @worcscc (www.twitter.com/worcscc).
Latest information on any disruption to public transport and services will be available on the county council's website worcestershire.gov.uk.
Residents can also phone the Worcestershire Hub for information on 01905 765765 (Hub opening hours are Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 9am-5pm).
