MOTHER'S Day at a county museum went by just fine – in spite of a fire alarm going off.
Visitors to the museum at Hartlebury Castle, near Worcester, had to be evacuated for a short while firefighters confirmed it was caused by a fault in the system.
Jo Boulton of the museum said: “Our visitors were only outside for a short while, and no one complained about it. In fact the kids loved it, because the firefighters let them go on the engines.”
That, aside the day was a success, she said, with free entry for all mums to mark Mother’s Day. “We had a lot of mums coming along, and they really enjoyed having their portraits taken and getting a Victorian-style sepia print," she said.
“The kids loved making Mother’s Day cards as well.”
