DROITWICH Marina is holding an open day.
The marina, which opened last spring, will open its gates to the public on April 27. The facility, which saw the first boats arrive in March 2012, has already filled more than half of the 238 moorings available.
The open day will run from 10am to 4pm and will give visitors the chance to talk with staff and explore the facilities.
“We are delighted to welcome boaters into our new marina. Everyone involved has worked hard to transform this field into a marina in just seven months,” said director Nick Parkes.
“We are enjoying meeting boaters from up and down the country and are pleased to be more than half full after only being open for 12 months.”
The completion of the marina created a new chapter in the history of Droitwich’s canal network as it looked to take advantage of a £12 million restoration project.
