BIRMINGHAM-born actor and playwright Malcolm Stent returns to The Swan Theatre next week with the sequel to his sell-out semi-autobiographical stage production Go and Play Up Your Own End.

Go and Play Further Up Your Own End is another nostalgic comedy set in his home city during the early Swingin’ Sixties.

While Go And Play Up Your Own End was based on Malcolm’s childhood memories of growing up in Saltley, at a time when kids were “brought up proper”, the sequel provides the next chapter of that story.

In Go And Play Further Up Your Own End, the action moves into the swinging 60s when the characters are older, but not necessarily wiser, to a time when Malcolm and his mates are grammar school boys, searching for pop stardom as members of a youth club band.

Malcolm is not only writer and director but also takes on the role of narrator, alongside Ollie Spencer, Dave Sealey and Maggie O’Hara, as well as full supporting cast and band.

This show is a must for any children of the sixties.

Filled with music, fun and drama, and packed with plenty of local nostalgia, it’s a story to evoke many lost memories of golden times in Brum.

Go And Play ‘Further’ Up Your Own End will be at The Swan Theatre on Thursday, March 14 at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £23.50 and are available from the Worcester Live Box Office by calling 01905 611427 or online at theswantheatre.co.uk.
