PERSHORE Abbey will be filled with an army of Welsh voices for a choral journey.
The 75-strong Llanelli Choral Society visit on Saturday, March 23 and their programme will draw on material across the centuries, stopping off at the best of baroque, classical and romantic, the world of opera and film and cinema.
Founded by acclaimed Welsh conductor John Hywel Williams, the society has become a leading choral force in South Wales.
It has performed the great oratorios and great choruses across many genres, winning national awards for its national music contribution and singing with a variety of stars including Alfie Boe.
Under the baton of Williams, the society will be joined by soprano Adele O’Neill, organist Huw Tregelles Williams, pianist Jean Hywel and narrator Jeremy Hywel Williams.
Highlights of the programme include Hallelujah Chorus, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Zadok the Priest, Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves, Grand March from Aida, Exodus, the Impossible Dream, Benedictus, Joyful Symphony No. 9, Born Free, Tydi a Rhoddaist and Anvil Chorus.
