A FOLK-pop starlet will be out to prove why she is known as the English rose with the eight-string guitar.
Despite only being 24, London-based singer-songwriter Lisbee Stainton has been writing songs for almost 15 years and drawing all sorts of critical acclaim - the Times declared her as “bound for glory”.
Her 22-date headline tour comes to the Marr’s Bar, Pierpont Street, Worcester, on Thursday, March 21.
She originally launched her career five years ago, when she became the first unsigned singer-songwriter to play London's O2 Arena, performing two shows to 30,000 people.
But it wasn’t until BBC 6Music DJ Tom Robinson asked her for a copy of her single Red after hearing it on her MySpace page in 2009 that she started making a name for herself.
She recently toured with Joan Armatrading, Paul Carrack, Gretchen Peters and Seth Lakeman, with the latter being so impressed that he invited her to become part of his own band for his 2012 UK tour and they started writing songs together.
Her latest album, Go, has continued her upward trajectory, with a fourth long player due for release this year.
Tickets are £8 in advance or £10 on the door.
