WORCESTER City Football Club’s hopes of long-term survival have been dramatically boosted following an agreement to release them from their contract with St Modwen.

It is understood the Blue Square Bet North club are in the process of finalising a deal to free them from moving to Nunnery Way, which they were originally tied to until 2017.

An agreement would allow City to meet a capital gains tax bill, due later this year that was threatening their survival, but it would come at the expense of not getting the stadium that was originally planned and having to find a new home for themselves.
