WORCESTER City boss Richard Dryden is hoping his side can cause an FA Trophy upset after drawing a Blue Square Premier outfit at home in the first round proper.
The St George’s Lane men will face struggling Grays Athletic on Saturday, December 12, after seeing off Zamaretto League Division One Midlands side Burnham.
The Blue Square South team picked up a 2-1 victory on Saturday to earn a clash with Julian Dicks’ men.
“It is a good draw for us,” said Dryden. “It is another home game and against a team in a higher league. Of course, we will be the underdogs.”
Dryden came up against former West Ham hard-man Dicks during his playing days and believes the Essex side will not be easy pickings despite them sitting in the Premier relegation zone.
“I’m sure Julian will have them very well-organised,” Dryden said. “We are both sitting at the wrong end of the table in our divisions and will be looking to progress into the next round.”
