WORCESTER City have snapped up former Aston Villa and Hartlepool United midfielder Ebby Nelson-Addy.
The 23-year-old, who was released by League Two side Hartlepool in May, has agreed a one-year deal after impressing on trial at City.
Manager Carl Heeley said the move ends his long pursuit of Nelson-Addy, who played 33 games for Worcester in the 2013-14 campaign and had a spell on loan at the club last season.
“I have always kept in touch with Ebby and tried on numerous occasions to bring him back to the club as I rate him very highly,” Heeley said.
“He has great pace and energy and I believe that there is still scope for huge improvement in his game.
“He was one of the main targets during the summer recruitment and everyone at the club is delighted to see him put pen to paper with us.
“We would all like to welcome Ebby back to the club and wish him every success with us.
Heeley, whose side take on Harrogate Town in their season opener on Saturday, said negotiations were also at an “advanced stage” with “at least four target”.
“We are confident of concluding deals in the next few days,” he added.
