A MALVERN woman has spoken of the moment she realised that people were trapped inside a blazing house earlier today.
Mandy Harris, 38, from The Glade, said she was woken by screaming in the early hours.
“I was nodding off to sleep at about 1.30am,” she said.
“I could hear next door banging and I could hear a woman screaming ‘somebody help me’.
"As I looked out I saw the porch and the front door in flames and flames coming out of the window.
“I ran outside and rang the fire brigade.”
She added: "I thought they were all going to die. They came out black.”
Ms Harris said a mother, her daughter and two sons managed to escape the blaze which claimed the life of one man.
It is understood the survivors were all treated for smoke inhalation.
