A DISABLED man was assaulted in an unprovoked attack while feeding ducks on a canal towpath in the Perdiswell area of Worcester.

The victim, who is in his 60s, was sat on his mobility scooter feeding the ducks on he path near Perdiswell Sports Centre, off Bilford Road, between 1-2pm on Friday (November 2) when he was approached from behind by two men.

One of the men then punched him to the face, knocking his glasses off in the process.

PC Andrew Todd, from the Warndon Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "This was a completely unprovoked attack on a man who was unable to defend himself.

"The victim's glasses were knocked off during the assault, so he is unable to provide a description of the offender, apart from that he was with another man and they had two Staffordshire bull terrier type dogs between them.

"One of these dogs was wearing a chest harness and had jumped into the canal to chase the ducks.

"There were lots of people using the canal that day, with numerous boats going back and forth.

"I would appeal to anyone who remembers seeing the men with the dogs or the victim on the towpath that afternoon to get in touch."
