FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a major fire at a Worcester nursery.
The blaze broke out at London Road nursery in Greenhill, Batenhall earlier this evening.
London Road has been closed in both directions as firefighters work to contain the smoke.
A spokesman for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said it received a call at 6.29pm to a fire in a two-storey building.
Eight fire engines were sent to the scene.
They arrived to find the first floor and roof space well alight.
Large clouds of smoke could be seen drifting over the London Road and Bath Road areas.
The spokesman said there were no reports of injuries or anyone trapped in the building.
Firefighters remain at the scene and London Road is still closed.
It is understood that all parents with children at the nursery have been contacted and offered alternative arrangements.
