Feckenham 3 Barnt Green Spartak 2
NEW look Barnt Green were denied a point from a thrilling match by a late winner in the Midland Combination Premier Division on Saturday.
Green were condemned to defeat by a goal 15 minutes from the end of the match.
The result was harsh on Spartak, who had played some attacking football in an end-to-end match.
Manager GJ Singh handed three new players their debuts on Saturday.
Strikers Kevin Brookes, Jae Martin and winger Lewis Baker were all given starts.
After a lively start Spartak conceded two goals in quick succession.
However, the side fought back when Martin, brought in from Evesham, was on hand to slot the ball into goal after Delroy Brown's penalty had been saved.
Brookes, signed from Oldbury in the week, then grabbed the equaliser in the second half.
However, despite chances Feckenham grabbed the winner near the end.
Singh said: "We are a good side, but it's going to take time for it to gel with the new players.
"We had our chances but we didn't take them and Feckenham took full advantage."
Barnt Green will be looking to boost their promotion hopes when they take on Castle Vale at home on Saturday (2.45pm kick off).
Saturday's defeat leaves Spartak's title hopes dented and four points behind leaders Atherstone.
On Wednesday, October 26 Spartak had defeated Brocton 1-0.
Winger Sean Williams was handed his debut for Barnt Green.
Marcus Ricketts headed home the only goal of the game in the 76th minute from Delroy Brown's left wing cross.
