TONY Bird has emerged as the latest transfer target for Nationwide League new boys Kidderminster Harriers.
The 25-year-old striker has just been released by manager Jan Molby's former club Swansea City.
Molby signed Bird for Swansea in 1997 from Barry Town, whose manager at the time was Molby's current assistant Gary Barnett.
The Harriers boss said: "We have a list of players we would like to bring in and Tony is one of those. We know we need a striker and Tony is a player who will always score you goals. He comes alive in the box.
"I've spoken to him briefly and he is interested, but he has had a number of other offers."
Molby plans talks with another of his targets, former Crewe and Notts County winger Fran Tierney, in the next couple of weeks, while former Welsh international midfielder Barry Horne is expected to sign when his contract with Sheffield Wednesday expires.
Striker Mark Druce has been transfer-listed while defenders Phil King and Les Hines plus midfielder Shaun Cunnington have all been told they can have free transfers.
Assistant boss Barnett has agreed a new two-year contract, while Molby is still in discussion with Tim Clarke, Paul Webb, Adie Smith, Scott Stamps, Steve Taylor and Ian Foster over their futures.
