THE Bishop of Worcester and the Archbishop of Canterbury are the latest high-profile figures to sign up to a Worcestershire man’s campaign against climate change.
The Right Reverend Dr John Inge and Dr Rowan Williams added their signatures to globe-trotting paddles in a show of solidarity in the fight against climate change.
The three paddles, which make up the Paddles for Life, have travelled around the world collecting signatures like those of Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Conservative leader David Cameron since former Olympic canoe coach David Train came up with the idea 15 years ago.
Bishop John said: “I was very pleased to add my signature to those of senior politicians and others who are all supporting David’s imaginative initiative.”
Mr Train, of Fladbury, near Pershore, said: “I was delighted to meet the Archbishop of Canterbury, who was very interested in what we in Worcestershire are doing with the Paddles for Life.
“The church is a great advocate of a greener lifestyle and on the day of my visit the Archbishop was leading a conference on sustainable living."
