Hot-shot striker Andrew Johnson's seven goals in five games saw him awarded the Umbro Isotonic Division One Player of Month award for January.
Signed from Birmingham City as a £500,000 make-weight in the Clinton Morrison transfer of July 2002, the 5ft 7ins striker netted his 21st goal of the season on Saturday.
He received the award from January's Manager of the Month Iain Dowie on Thursday, and then celebrated his 22nd birthday on Monday.
The award judges said: "Andrew's pace and movement have made him a thorn in the side of First Division defences. If he continues in this form Palace could push their way into the play-off picture."
The judging panel comprises ex-Chelsea player Paul Elliott, Luke Nicoli (writer for FourFourTwo magazine) and Football League executive Ian Christon.
