A CELEBRITY gardener will return to his Worcestershire roots for a one-off talk.
David Domoney, who found fame as a gardening expert on television show This Morning and has 21 Royal Horticultural Society medals to his name will visit St Andrew’s Methodist Church in Pump Street, Worcester, on Saturday, April 4, with an illustrated lecture entitled Gobsmacking Gardens.
His parents, Ray and Jean Domoney, are active members of the St Andrew’s congregation and Mr Domoney’s passion for greenery started when he was a little boy selling plants at church fairs.
He went on to study at Pershore College.
Mr Domoney senior said: “We’re delighted David’s coming back to his roots to give one of his talks.
“It will give people a chance to meet and hear him as he shares with them his horticultural passion.
“He’s a TV favourite on many prime-time shows and my wife and I are very proud of him.”
Mr Domoney won a silver gilt medal for the first underwater garden at Chelsea last year and a gold at the BBC Gardeners’ World Live show for a desert cactus garden.
He recently filmed two mini-series called Gardens from Around the World and Royal Gardens of the UK for ITV’s This Morning and continues to writes for publications including House Beautiful, Garden News and the Sunday Mirror.
In Worcester he will take the audience on the journey through the world’s most beautiful gardens, give advice and answer questions. Tickets cost £10 including refreshments. The talk will start at 7.30 pm.
All proceeds will go towards the church development fund.
