Review:

SANTA Claus, his wife, elves and even reindeer are all to be found now that Telford’s Wonderland attraction has been transformed into Winter Wonderland in the run-up to Christmas.

Yes, there really are two genuine reindeer to add an authentic seasonal touch to Christmas celebrations at the popular venue. The elves are everywhere in the woodland site, introducing children to Santa and manning the café, festive gift shop and rides.

Set in the 170-acre Town Park close to the ice rink and town centre shops, entrance fees range from £4.95 (children and adults) £4.70 (OAP) and £21.50 (family of five) in off-peak periods to £5.75, £5.50 and £25.25 respectively in peak periods, such as now. Under-twos go free.

Up to Tuesday, December 23, and for an additional £4.20, children can meet Santa and receive a present. And a very friendly Santa he is, spending plenty of time to chat and have his picture taken with each of his visitors.

In addition, families can spend a wonderful day walking through the beautiful woodland setting and delighting in the discovery of fairytale characters and their houses around every corner.

The entrance fees pay for all rides - of which there are many dotted throughout the attraction - the only exception being Teddy's train which will take you from the park to the Wonderland entrance for £1 return - 50p for OAPs. Picnic areas, crazy golf and fairy tale buildings, including Snow White's Cottage and the Gingerbread House help pull in families throughout the year. There's also an amazing maze.

The Winter Wonderland also features a synthetic ice rink during the Christmas period, again no charge and with skates supplied for the youngsters.

From Worcester, Wonderland can be reached either via Kidderminster and Bridgnorth, or the M5, M6 and M54.
