A CAR has caught fire near a busy roundabout in Worcester.
The vehicle burst into flames on the A449 near Claines roundabout today (October 16) and caused traffic chaos.
No one was injured according to emergency services.
Fire crews attended the scene before the blue car burst into flames according to witnesses.
As a result, the A449 was partially blocked.
One witness said: "Everyone is fine and being diverted back to the roundabout or the lane, no one’s hurt.
"Fire services were there before the fire started and no one was near the car, it was just a blue car smoking with police around and 30 minutes later it had just caught fire.
"I live quite near and can still see blues over some houses."
According to the AA, delays of 20 plus minutes are expected.
A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Three crews - two from Worcester and one from Bromsgrove were called to reports of a car on fire at 2.29pm this afternoon.
"An environmental protection unit from Tenbury was also sent to assist.
"The incident is still ongoing."
