A BODY has been found after police continued their search for a missing man Worcester man.

There was an increased police presence at Diglis yesterday (Tuesday) after a body was found in the River Severn.

Police officers had closed Diglis Bridge while they were recovering a body.

The identification of the body has not yet taken place.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "A body was recovered during the search and family have been informed, although the formal identification is yet to take place."

West Mercia Police had been searching the River Severn after reports of a man entering the water.
