A POLICE incident on the M5 is causing delays this morning as two miles of tailbacks have been reported.

The M5 northbound between junction 1 (West Bromwich) and the M6 junction was closed due to a police incident.
Although the road has since reopened, the incident is causing delays for drivers in Worcestershire heading north.

The Central Motorway Police Group is reported to be leading on the incident.
A spokesperson for National Highways West Midlands said: "Traffic caught within the closure has now been released and the West Midlands Ambulance Service has left the scene.
"Delays of 30 minutes and two miles of congestion."
