The SECRETS behind place names in Worcestershire are set to be revealed.
Pershore Heritage and History Society’s next meeting will explore some of the more curious areas in the county, including Wyre Piddle and White Ladies Aston.
Retired medical doctor and amateur historian Dr Mike Jenkins will lead the society’s June meeting, at 7pm on Thursday, June 1.
He has been interested in the forms and diversity of county place names for many years and wrote his book ‘The History of Place Names in England and Worcestershire – The Voices of The Pas’ to fill time during Covid lockdowns.
The book has already sold over 500 copies.
Everyone is welcome to the talk, held in the conference room at the rear of Pershore Library, with admission just £2.50 for non-society members.
