TWO injured elderly women were saved from a car in Callow End.

The women were found trapped in their car after it crashed and fell on its side on Jennett Tree Lane.

The car was found lying on its side and blocking off the road.

Fire crews helped free the women from the car using hydraulic equipment, and one ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were at the scene treating the women.

Both women's injuries were believed not to be serious, and they were discharged from the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a single-car road traffic collision on Jennett Tree Lane at 10.23am on Monday.

"One ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.

"On arrival, we discovered a car that had come to rest on its side and two patients, both women.

"Both patients had to be freed from the vehicle before they were treated for injuries not believed to be serious and discharged on scene."

Fire crews could not make the car safe and left the recovery of the car with the police.

The road was blocked.

A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “HWFR was called out to a road traffic collision with people trapped in Jennet Tree Lane, Callow End, on Monday at 10.30am.

“Crews from Worcester and Malvern fire stations attended to find a vehicle on its side.

“Two elderly women were freed from the vehicle using hydraulic equipment and left in the care of the ambulance service.

“The road was blocked, and crews were unable to make the vehicle safe with recovery left with the police.

“The incident status was changed to pending closure for HWFRS at 11.35am.”
