FORMER customers of a closed city gym claim they are still waiting for membership refunds six months after the business shut down.
Dawid Kalarus, aged 28, said he paid £200 in cash for a two-year membership at Prime Fitness, in Westbury Street, Worcester.
He told the Worcester News that he still had eight months left on his membership when the site, also known as City Gym, closed in January.
Mr Kalarus, of Ripon Road, Worcester, said: "It makes me feel bad and a bit angry and upset.
"We are not upset about the money, it's nothing huge – it's just not fair. We were good customers."
Mr Kalarus, originally from Poland, claims the gym offered him a cheaper membership if he paid in cash.
He added: "I was sure everything would be ok as I'd been training there for two years."
Mr Kalarus said he does not want to take the case to court because he is unfamiliar with the UK justice system and afraid of losing more money.
Mr Kalarus, who works for Amazon in Droitwich, said he was told that around 15 to 20 members were owed money by the gym.
Another ex-member, who does not want to be named, said he is also waiting for a £120 refund.
The man shared a picture with the Worcester News which appears to show details relating to his 12-month membership.
It shows that he was supposed to be a member at the gym until December this year.
He said: "I paid £150 in cash for the year and they closed down the gym after one month.
"I tried to get my money back from the owners. They say they are still waiting for a lawyer. "It's not the right thing to do to an ex-member of the gym. It's not fair."
The former member said he is also against launching a court case because he does not want to spend any more money.
He showed Facebook messages to the Worcester News which show him and a person called Chris Robinson discussing refunds for his membership.
