THE Worcester News is delighted to announce a brand new Community Grant scheme thanks to Worcester Lions.
Once again the Lions have £1,500 to be awarded in grants of up to £300.
This is more of the money that was collected when the Lions Christmas sleigh was touring the City, along with some that has been raised since.
As previously, all applications must include full contact details of the person making the application, and the organisation that they are making the application for, as well as full details of what the funds are intended for and the amount being requested.
Administered by the Worcester News, previous rounds of the grant scheme have already benefited dozens of local groups in and around Worcester.
The most recent round of grants saw money awarded to organisations including Oasis Warndon Community Hub, Rushwick Pre School, Worcester Snoezelen and Malvern Special Families
Other previous recipients have included Monday Night Club, Guys Footprints, Asha Women’s Centre, Worcestershire Pensioners, Action Group, Good Soil Project, Aspie, Hereford and Worcester Dyslexia Association, Art In Minds, Acton Mill Care Farm, St Paul’s Hostel, Oropharyngeal Cancer Support Group, New Hope, Hallow Village Community Group, St John Ambulance and Maggs Day Centre.
The money has gone towards funding a vast array of things from buying new books, and an electric piano to helping with the costs of running jewellery courses, hydro pool sessions, numeracy and literacy groups and helping with transport costs.
Groups can apply for a grant up to the value of £300. The deadline is Friday, June 29.
