PLANS to dual Carrington Bridge have been approved by the county council.
The successful application includes the dualling of the existing 1.9km single carriageway of the A4440 between Ketch and Powick roundabouts and improvements to both of these junctions.
Plans also include construction of a cycle/footbridge over Hams Way and the building of an additional bridge and viaduct next to the current Carrington Bridge and Powick Common Viaduct.
The main construction work is anticipated to commence Spring 2019 with some minor works taking place later this year.
The application was approved by the county council's planning and regulatory committee today (March 27).
