THE Salvation Army has celebrated the opening of a new centre on a Worcester estate.
The church group has opened its new care and share unit in Norwich Road, Ronkswood.
The unit will sell a range of used items ranging from brick-a-brac to children's clothing, but will also act as a community building.
A parent and toddler group is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am until 11.30am, the lunch club SALT, Share a Lunch Together, meet on Tuesdays from 1pm. The children's activity club for 8-11year olds runs on Tuesdays from 6.30pm until 7.30pm, and the youth club is held on Friday evenings from 6.30pm.
The Salvation Army's Community Assistant in Ronkswood, Mary Harry said: "We are right in the centre of Ronkswood. That's why we called our parent and toddler group, The Neighourhub Centre. The Salvation Army is combining the love of God with community action to meet the needs of the people of Ronkswood. We are keen to hear if there is something else we can do to help in the local area."
