A MAN has appeared in court charged with murder and assault after the body of a missing Worcester woman was found last Friday.
Richard Bailey, from Cooksey Lane, Kingstanding, was charged on Monday by West Midlands Police detectives with the murder of 33-year-old Charlotte Teeling.
Bailey appeared in Birmingham Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody. He did not enter a plea.
It’s alleged the 40-year-old attacked Ms Teeling, from Ronkswood, at his home on Friday March 2. The cause of death is still to be confirmed.
Bailey was arrested during the early hours of Saturday March 3.
Detective inspector Jim Colclough, from West Midlands Police’s Homicide Team, said: “This is a tragic case where a young woman has sadly lost her life.
“I’d ask that anyone has any information on Charlotte’s movements since 22 February, which is when she was last seen, or anyone who has any information that could help our investigation and hasn’t already spoken to my team to get in touch."
Bailey will next appear in Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday March 8.
