A MUM says she is living in fear of her violent ex-boyfriend since he was released from prison.

Emily Russell, aged 31, from Worcester, was attacked by Edward Burbridge towards the end of an eighth-month relationship.

Burbridge was sentenced to a three-week consecutive prison sentence after admitting assault by beating and criminal damage on December 22 last year.

Now that the 32-year-old is out of prison, mum-of-three Emily says she fears for her life.

“The attack was so bad that he ended up putting a hole in my eardrum,” she told the Worcester News.

Emily, who has children aged three, six and 12, said that Burbridge is now stalking her and has made threats.

Speaking of her fears, Emily, who has known Burbridge for more than 15 years, said: “I can’t walk down the road without the feeling that he is going to come behind me and do something.

“I’m a personal trainer and I can’t go to work for the fear that he will attack me again and I’m having to get friends to take my children to school in case he is about.

“My life is at stake and my children’s life is at stake."

A West Mercia Police spokesman confirmed that Emily had spoken to officers regarding Burbridge's conduct since he was released from prison.

The Worcester News understands that Burbridge is now wanted by police.

Emily added: “I’ve had to move my fridge freezer in front of the back door so he can’t get in.

“I can’t live like this. I just want to be able to go out when I want.

“People have been telling me that they keep seeing him nearby and my biggest fear is that it’s going to be too late.”

The Worcester News attempted to contact Edward Burbridge to offer him the chance to comment, but could not reach him.
