POLICE have been given more time to question a man on suspicion of murdering Worcester woman Julie Fox.
A 43-year-old man from Worcester was arrested on suspicion of murder on Tuesday, and West Mercia Police has been given a second extension of 36 hours, so can question the man until midday on Friday.
The 51-year-old suffered a serious head injury caused by a blunt instrument after it was believed she was attacked in her home.
Detective Superintendent Adrian McGee said: "It's now been over a week since Julie's body was found, and we are continuing to investigate the circumstances of her death.
"Officers remain in the area whilst enquiries are carried out.
"We are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area between December 22 and December 27 to please come forward or speak with a local officer.
"We are also still trying to locate Julie's pink handbag which she had with her days before she died.
"This is currently missing from her bungalow and I would ask anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to please come forward."
