A FATHER who died after falling into the River Severn has been described as a 'loving, caring and kind man'.
Sarah Hampstead led the tributes to her partner, Alan Hampstead, of Sansome Place, Worcester, after his death this weekend.
The 52-year-old fell off the Worcester Bridge on Sunday morning and his body was found by rescue teams later that day.
Mrs Hampstead said she was devastated beyond words by the death of her 'soulmate'.
She said: "Alan Hampstead is, was, and always will be my one and only true love and soulmate and my heart belongs to him forever, and I hope that now he is finally at peace and out of pain.
"Alan was a loving, caring and kind man, a partner, father and grandfather. I am devastated beyond words that this has happened to Alan.
"He loved his family and friends unconditionally and would do anything for them, and was completely loyal to them always.
"His family will remember Alan as he was, he was cheeky, he was fiery, he was loving and he could be incredibly funny, and also incredibly stubborn and was set in his ways.
"He was passionate about his CB radios, the Forest of Dean and wildlife."
Mrs Hampstead added that her partner saw the world around him in a different way to other people and touched many people's lives.
She added: "He never really understood how loved and liked he was, and how many people's lives will be affected by this tragedy.
"I would like to thank everyone who tried to help Alan in his times of need, especially all the emergency search and rescue teams who tried so very hard to save Alan.
"The firefighters in the boats especially, my heartfelt thanks for all you did, and continued to do in the hours following Alan's accident until you found him."
Mrs Hampstead said her parter will be sorely missed.
West Mercia Police originally reported that a 62-year-old man had fallen off the bridge.
