A DRIVER was brought back to life by paramedics after suffering a serious head injury in a crash.
The man, who is in his 50s, was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, after crashing into a white Ford Ranger pickup.
He was driving his blue Hyundai car on the A422, while the pickup truck was travelling in the opposite direction.
The incident happened near the junction with Withybed Lane, Inkberrow, Worcestershire, at around 3.50pm on Sunday, September 3.
Two ambulances, a paramedic officers, a Midlands Air Ambulance, a local community first responder and a doctor attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “When ambulance staff arrived they found two vehicles which had been involved in a serious collision.
"The driver and single occupant of one car, a man, had already been pulled from the vehicle when the community first responder arrived.
"The man was in cardiac arrest and bystanders were already administering excellent CPR.
“Ambulance staff took over advanced life support on scene and managed to restart the man’s heart.
"The man was taken by air ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham with the doctor on board.
"The man’s condition was said to be critical upon arrival at hospital.
“The two occupants of the second vehicle were assessed but were uninjured.”
Police want to speak with witnesses who saw the incident or the manner in which the vehicles were being driven before the crash.
