WORK to transform an unused part of a Worcester building into boutique student accommodation has now been completed.
Farrier House has been given a £2 million makeover by Dorset-based developers Stannary Solutions in collaboration with Swedish flatpack giants IKEA.
The existing doctor's surgery will stay on the ground floor while the three levels above have been overhauled into 69 en-suite rooms.
The complex will include two cinema rooms, a cafe, free laundrette facilities, double kitchens at the end of each floor and six rooms for wheelchair users.
The landscaped rooftop terrace will offer seating with views looking out towards the city centre.
The accommodation was designed following research and consultations with Worcester students about their wants and needs.
Steve Emson, of Farrier House, said: "This is way out in front of other student accommodation in Worcester in terms of quality and what is on offer to the students.
"Hopefully this will have a knock on effect for all other student accommodation to improve and help to encourage more students to Worcester and build what is a fantastic city to live and work in."
